Free user onboarding

Create a free Aegir account and start from a stronger security position.

Aegir is free for users. The onboarding path is designed to explain the trust model first, then guide the user into secure app installation and encrypted profile setup without forcing broad personal-data sharing.

This becomes the minimal Beta-1 account identifier and email-verification target.

Select the account country for Beta-1 sanctions gating.

Use this only when the account is tied to a specifically covered region.

Why Aegir

Security belongs to the user

Aegir is built around trusted-device presence, encrypted profile handling, and selective data release instead of broad routine tracking.

Required app

Desktop or mobile app is part of the trust model

Beta-1 requires the user to choose a trusted app path so local secure unlock can become part of the authentication flow.

Privacy

Sensitive fields are meant to stay encrypted

Date of birth and profile-sensitive data are intended to live in encrypted storage and be shared only when policy and user consent allow it.

Signup path

What a new user should understand before they enroll

  • The user must understand that Aegir is free, but the trusted desktop or mobile app is required.
  • The user should understand that security is anchored to their own trusted device and secure local unlock.
  • The user should understand that profile-sensitive data is intended to stay encrypted and selectively shared.
  • The Beta-1 flow should lead naturally into later encrypted profile onboarding instead of asking for everything upfront.
App choices

Beta-1 supports a trusted desktop or mobile path.

  • Desktop app path using Windows Hello, fingerprint, face scan, or another approved local secure unlock.
  • Mobile app path using device biometrics or secure-device authentication.
  • QR-assisted handoff remains part of the broader authentication story once the user returns as an existing user.
